@Philly_Marathon - 11.23.14
My initial thoughts after running my first 26.2 was "Who would do this multiple times???" Actually this thought started to invade me around...mile 19 or mile 20 but at mile 17, I was already determined to finish. Despite the combination of the distance and the pain, the experience was enjoyed and well worth it.
What I ultimately learned was that "pain passes" and belief in yourself is always the starting point. To take a glance in front of you and see thousands of runners and then to take a glance over your shoulder during the race and see thousands of people behind you...was breathtaking. -MW
